A supposed slide from an internal Verizon presentation made its way onto the Internet, revealing the carrier’s Nexus 6 plans (and some other plans, too). Verizon’s site has been quietly teasing the Nexus 6’s imminent arrival, and we actually got a glimpse at what the branded device would look like when it becomes available. Leaked images showing the soon-to-be released Verizon Nexus 6 phone have surfaced online. Phandroid posted the leaked photos on its website, showing that the units that will be sold under Verizon will be etched with the logo of the network carrier at the back. But all that teasing will stop soon enough, as it looks like the device will hit just before the month is up. The slide says the Nexus 6 will be available Thursday Feb. 26, which means you have about three weeks to go until you can get your hands on the device. The Google-developed Nexus 6 made by Motorola found its way in the market on October 2014. It was earlier expected to be released by the top four network carriers in the U.S., but none of them started to offer the device to their subscribers around that time. AT&T first picked up the smartphone earlier, but Verizon will only start selling the device soon. Verizon’s decision to put their company logo at space at the back of the product is not new, since AT&T also included their logo in their own Nexus 6 offering.
It’s our hope that Verizon’s Nexus 6 won’t be loaded to the brim with bloatware, though we’re expecting at least a couple of “essential” apps (such as MyVerizon and Visual Voicemail) to come along for the ride. Let’s just hope the buck will stop there, and that their second attempt at offering a Nexus phone goes a lot better than the Galaxy Nexus debacle of 2011.
