Google shared this new update on their office Google+ account. Google announced that:

We’ve all been there — you’ve searched under your car seat, tossed around the sofa cushions and you still can’t find your phone. If you know where your computer is, you can now ask Google to find your Android phone from your desktop. If the pesky phone is hiding nearby, Google can ring it for you — or you can see it on the map if you, say, forgot it at the bar. Just make sure you’ve got the latest version of the Google app installed on your device!

The new and simple to use feature is free and should work with any Android smartphone. Now you don’t need complicated steps to find your phone like opening Android Device Manager and signing in again to the account. Just ask Google to find it for you. You can also select or change the device of which you need to find the location right from Google search page. The only thing to make sure is that your handset and your computer’s browser need to be connected to the same Google account.

The Google “find my phone” feature is exclusively for Android devices. It won’t work on iOS devices that have the Google app installed. However, iOS devices have their own find my phone app, which works via the iCloud.

This new feature will help Android users to find their phone quickly. These feature are really simple and small but they count much in terms of user-friendly features so again Google is moving ahead from other smartphone industry in terms of quickness, reliability and user-friendliness operating system for its users.
